Movie Trivia
Movie trivia is can be a lot of fun for everyone. Families, singles, and couples looking to add fun to a party can ask each other movie trivia questions. You can start by coming up with things off the top of your head. For example, you can ask the crowd something easy like “Who starred in Scarface?” If they are a movie buff, they should know it is Al Pacino! You could ask them “Who was the director of Pulp Fiction, Reservoir Dogs, and Kill Bill Volume I and II?” Most fans of independent films will know that answer to that question is Quentin Tarantino.
There is a movie trivia game called The 6 Degrees of Kevin Bacon. Three college students who felt Kevin was not getting the recognition he deserved created the game in 1994. The object of the game is to link Kevin Bacon with other actors through movie roles. For example, did you know you could link Kevin Bacon with former President Ronald Reagan? You can link Ronald Reagan with Lee Marvin (they starred together in The Killers). You can link Lee Marvin with Donald Sutherland (they starred together in The Dirty Dozen). Finally, you can link Donald Sutherland to Kevin Bacon (they starred in Animal House together). Therefore, that is three degrees. Do not worry if you are not very good at this game. You can always check references online to see who starred in what movies.
There are also games you can purchase for parties that ask movie trivia questions. One such game is Scene It? by Screen Life. To play, you load the DVD that comes with the game and try to guess from what movies certain scenes came from. There are many different versions to choose from including the Super Movie Game Pack, the James Bond Super Game Pack, and the Turner Classic Movies Super Game Pack. You can have fun reliving your favorite movie moments!
